Where Do You Fit?

Four short paths. Each one is four steps, not forty. Everything links into the same library — this just tells you which door to walk through first.

If You Want to Pray

You do not need training to begin. You need something to pray and someone to pray it with.

  1. Pick a people to carry. Choose one unreached people group and pray for them by name for a month.
  2. Join an hour. Join an hour. Mondays at 9 AM Eastern (4 PM Jerusalem), Fridays at 8 AM, 9 AM and 3 PM Eastern (3 PM, 4 PM and 10 PM Jerusalem), in the Global Family 24-7 room — and two more in the 24:14 room. See them all.
  3. Learn to listen. Work through the Listening Prayer study — prayer as conversation, not monologue.
  4. Bring one friend. Prayer that lasts is prayer that is shared.

If You Are on the Field

You are already praying. The question is who is praying for you, and whether your team’s prayer is strategy or reflex.

  1. Take the assessment. Nineteen questions, one for each strategy — half an hour with your team.
  2. Build a prayer shield team. Moses needed Aaron and Hur. So do you.
  3. Book a Hydrate session. A short Zoom time where intercessors listen and pray over you or your team.
  4. Ask for a coach. Forty-five minutes with someone who has done this on your continent.

If You Lead a Church, Network or Organization

Mobilizing prayer is its own work. These are the pieces that travel best into a congregation or a team.

  1. Run the assessment with your leadership. Find the one strategy you are weakest in.
  2. Teach it in Discovery Bible Study form. Every strategy has a ready-made story set, several in Spanish.
  3. Give prayer a place, not just a slot. Start a prayer room, a canopy, a watch — the Prayer Presence material is a starter kit.
  4. Connect your people outward. Prayer hours on Monday and Friday in the Global Family 24-7 room, two more in the 24:14 room, and the other ways this fellowship prays together.

If You Lead Children or Youth

Children pray, and often they pray with a directness the rest of us have to learn again. These are the pieces built for a kitchen table or a children’s group rather than a classroom.

  1. Give every child a region. Twelve printable colouring pages, one per region, with a prayer at the foot of each.
  2. Pray through the year together. The Ethnê World Changers’ Prayer Handbook, written for young people to use themselves.
  3. Teach them to listen. God Speaks from Pebbles & Stones — sixteen free lessons a grandparent, a parent and a six-year-old can work at the same table.
  4. Start the Treasure Scroll. Living Stones’ Bible study for children at home, ages five to ten — fifteen to thirty minutes a day, reading Scripture directly. Begin with week one.
  5. Pray with children elsewhere. The World Shapers monthly calendar, and 2BC’s Shine! global day of worship and prayer.
